Since starting this adventure, to say I’ve met my fair share of special people would be an understatement. Over the past 25 years, some of the world’s greatest designers have humbled me by including us in their work. In our small world, I’ve known many who’ve made a difference, and known a few whose first name alone brings to mind the person and their work. For a lot of us, when we hear someone say Jan, we know exactly who that is and what she’s meant to design, which is no small feat. With style and grace, you’ve shown us all how chic hide could be, and more than once, turned all the right heads with your glamorous work and personal style. Your mentorship, creativity, and our legendary gossipy lunches have meant much to me. But you—and our friendship—mean oh so much more.
