What began as a childhood connection to hide – where it was present in everything from tabletop furniture to art pieces in the Bunting family home – has evolved into something extraordinary. The spark came from a handmade hide art piece, a gift from Kyle’s father that would ultimately inspire a transition from television to textile design. Over 23 years and a million square feet of hide carpets later, Kyle Bunting has built more than just a company, it’s become a family of choice, partnering with over 3,000 designers, including 300 core collaborators who trust the studio with their most ambitious projects. This isn’t just about making rugs, it’s about creating a whole new category in design.
We always say that the first step in any project is to listen. Our community of designers have no shortage of ideas and it’s our job to bring those ideas to life. We work with our clients to design, render, and move to produce their creation with some of the shortest turn around times in the industry. When designers ask when they can have something, our first question is “When do you need it?” This flexibility, combined with our in-house color development, where we offer variations no other leather company would dream of, lets us take on any challenge a designer can imagine. Because that’s what happens when you refuse to compromise on materials or creativity.

What began with hide has evolved into something bigger. Not because we were looking to expand the business, but because our designers wanted more ways to work with us. Now we’re bringing our patterns and precision to wool and silk and walls and art, letting each material tell its own story. Same designs, different conversation – that’s what makes a Kyle Bunting piece unique.
Nobody has more colors because nobody needs more colors than we do. From four distinct purples to six different pinks, our palette goes places other companies wouldn’t dream of. Our solid hides are double-dyed for lustre and durability, while our wool and silk interpretations explore each material’s unique way with light and shadow.
